July 2004.
A
work of art
Internationally renowned author, illustrator and humorist,
Graham Clarke, redrew the Maidstone Festival logo to mark
the 25th River Festival.
He also produced a commemorative work of art, which was
presented to the River Festival committee. Mr Clarke, who
has a studio in Boughton Monchelsea, is one of Britain's most
popular and best-selling printmakers.

Maidstone River Festival Charity
The Royal British Legion was the official charity for the
silver anniversary. The 60th anniversary of D-Day is our nation's
opportunity to thank our heroes: it's our chance to remember
those who fell on the beaches and those who made it home that
we will never forget what they did for us.
The Royal British Legion is just as relevant today as it was
when it was formed during the Second World War. They
help all serving and ex-service personnel and their immediate
families. This includes support for a service family when
a member is called to serve, to helping the elderly and infirm.
Graham Clarke has produced a one-off artwork which has been
donated to the River Festival committee. We will donate to
the Royal British Legion to raise money in their 60th year.
A photograph of the artwork will be online shortly. Our thanks
to Graham
Clarke for his continued support during this anniversary
year.
